Legal planning for property, estates and business

Some of the most valuable legal work happens before a dispute begins. Clear documents can protect a home purchase, record a business agreement and make an estate easier for a family to administer.

Wills and estate planning

A will allows you to choose an executor, identify beneficiaries and record important wishes. Estate planning may also involve powers of attorney and representation agreements. We help clients prepare documents that reflect their family, property and decision-making needs. Complex tax, trust or corporate structures may require advice from additional professionals.

Probate and estate administration

After a death, the executor or administrator may need to locate the will, identify assets and debts, notify interested parties, apply for a grant and distribute the estate. We guide personal representatives through the legal steps and explain where disputes, minor beneficiaries, foreign assets or missing information may require special care.

Residential conveyancing and property transfers

We assist with purchases, sales, mortgages, refinances and selected title transfers in British Columbia. Conveyancing is deadline-driven. Send the signed contract and lender information early. If a deal becomes disputed, our litigation experience helps identify the line between completing the transaction and protecting a legal claim.

Business incorporation and agreements

We assist with BC companies, business purchases and sales, shareholder arrangements, selected commercial contracts and leases. Incorporation alone does not resolve how owners share control, money, work and risk. A written agreement can address those questions before a disagreement threatens the business.
