At the heart of George Lee Law Corp. stands our founder, George Lee, a multifaceted professional who embodies the roles of a family mediator, life coach, and award-winning author. His diverse expertise and accomplishments reflect the breadth and depth of his commitment to both the legal profession and personal development.

George Lee is the founding member of our law firm. He speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

James Lee is a litigation lawyer practices criminal defence, family law, immigration law, and civil litigation. He represents clients throughout the Lower Mainland and Greater Vancouver areas.

George Lee, MA, JD

George Lee practises in family law, civil litigation, immigration law and selected solicitor matters. He has appeared before the BC Provincial Court, BC Supreme Court, Federal Court and the Immigration Appeal Division. He advises clients in English and Mandarin and understands Cantonese.

George earned a BA from Wuhan University, an MA in English Literature from the University of Calgary and a JD from the University of Victoria. He later completed life-coaching training at Erickson College and training as an NLP practitioner. His work as a mediator, coach and writer gives him a broad view of conflict: what the law can solve, what negotiation can preserve and what a client must decide for themselves.

George has volunteered and contributed to legal and community organizations, including public legal education and services supporting immigrant communities. Canadian and international media have interviewed him about law and immigration. He is also a member of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia and provides certified Chinese-English translation within the scope of the firm’s services.

His debut novel, Dancing in the River, won the 2021 Guernica Prize for Literary Fiction. He co-authored The One Big Thing with Brian Tracy.

James Lee, B.MSc (Honours), JD

Associate Counsel | Called to the BC Bar in 2016 and the Alberta Bar in 2019

James Lee is a litigation lawyer focusing on criminal defence, family law and civil litigation. He earned his JD from the University of Victoria in 2015 and articled with George Lee Law Corporation. After his call to the British Columbia Bar in 2016, he practised in Southern Alberta and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2019.

James has appeared regularly in the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He reviews the evidence closely, gives direct advice and prepares each case around the client’s actual objective. Sometimes that means a negotiated resolution. Sometimes it means a contested hearing or trial.

James serves clients in English and Korean.
